Some domain registry companies are suspected of logging the domain names you are checking, and using them as suggestions for others to buy moments before you. The practice is known as Domain Name Front Running, and some people claim that it has happened to them when they did not immediately register an available domain name and returned to buy it hours later only to find that it was no longer available.
To minimize this risk for our clients, we developed our own domain availability search tool that avoids the major commercial registrars and minimizes the risk of handing domain ideas to potential squatters. When you enter a name and click on the Safe Check button, our tool makes direct whois queries to safe registrar servers, and it does not log any of your searches. If a domain is available, it will bring up a pre-filled submission box for GoDaddy, which is our recommended domain registrar. The name is not submitted to GoDaddy until you click the GoDaddy Search button, which you should not do until you are ready to immediately register the name.
We do not log your domain searches. We make direct queries only to the following whois registrar servers: whois.biz for .biz domains, whois.internic.net for .com domains, whois.afilias.info for .info domains, whois.internic.net for .net domains, whois.publicinterestregistry.net for .org domains, whois.worldsite.ws for .ws domains.
Please enter a domain name to begin your no-nonsense search.
